JP began singing  in 1995, starting out in the bands Red Rooster, Brassneck & Cavalier, followed by appearances in various musicals and plays, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Little Shop Of Horrors and Guys & Dolls.

 

 

From 2000 - 2007 he worked as a DJ and Karaoke Host, and this naturally progressed into cabaret work. During this time he was able to learn a large number of songs and now has a repertoire of over 400. He can apply himself to a number of styles - anything from musicals to pop, rock, soul and swing from the last 60+ years. His cabaret sets present a mini history of classic popular music, appealing to a wide range of tastes, ages and audiences.



Originally based in the Bath area, JP started out as a cabaret singer in 2003, supporting drag artists such as Amber Dextrous, Dr. Beverly Ballcrusher & Fanny Dazzle in various venues in Bath, Bristol & Cardiff. In 2007 he moved to Berkshire and the cabaret work extended to the Reading & Greater London areas.



In 2008 JP moved to Surrey, and naturally found himself gravitating towards the London & Brighton circuit. In 2009 he appeared on the main cabaret stage at Brighton Pride and returned again in 2011. Since then, several new venues across the South-East have been added. He is a regular face on the Brighton scene, often working with the likes of Laurie La Mour and Misty Lee, and has enjoyed numerous appearances alongside the legendary Maisie Trollette (who has now retired).



JP is incredibly versatile, and has a broad vocal range (baritone to top tenor). He also has a strong falsetto voice, so can perform the likes of the Beach Boys, ELO and the Temptations. From his days in a blues band, he is also able to play blues harmonica and does so on several numbers, giving him an interesting and unique edge.

 

He has more recently, embraced the jazz/swing/rat pack territory, extending his repertoire to the likes of Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin & Nat King Cole. He has his own professional sound rig and transport, and as an experienced DJ and Sound Engineer, can provide a fully professional and varied evening's entertainment for all.
